Web design services
You know that you need a new website
Your business needs a new website, and there are lots of people out there offering their web design services. So why should you choose me to design your website?
Your website is your shop window on the internet, so it’s critical that this accurately reflects your business. Having a new website is going to be a complete waste of time if your site is badly designed and hard to navigate, and nobody can find you on Google. You should think of your new website as a key investment in your business.
It’s super important to me that any website I design is successful, so I will look to form a close working partnership with you over the course of your project and beyond. This means that before I start designing your website, I will work closely with you to understand your business goals, what what success looks like for you, and agree with you the best way of achieving this. This means analysing your existing website (if you have one), before researching other websites in your industry or niche to identify what works and what doesn’t.
My web design services include keyword research as standard, so you can understand which keywords you need to use where on your new website, helping your chances of ranking well on Google.
If you don’t want to write your website copy then I can also do this for you.
Designing your website
To give your website the maximum chance of success, I take a holistic approach to designing websites, ensuring that all of the key components are in place:
Easy to navigate
Navigating your website will be super-easy for your visitors. If they can quickly find the content they’re after, they’ll stay on your website for longer, increasing the likelihood of conversion.
Your website will be custom-built using WordPress, the software used to power over 35% of the internet. If you’d like to find out more about WordPress, I’ve written an article giving 5 reasons why I use WordPress.
The theme of your website will be designed to complement your company’s branding, using your logo and colour scheme.
A contact form will be included, making it easy for your prospects to get in touch. And an interactive Google map can also be displayed to help your customers locate you.
If you use social media to promote your business, then your website will be integrated with these as well so that your marketing channels are all joined up.
More people now access the internet from mobile devices than desktop computers. Google also now works on a ‘mobile-first’ basis, so websites that aren’t optimised for mobile will be penalised and rank lower in the search engine results.
I will make sure your website works perfectly on mobile as well as desktop, so that all your visitors can navigate your site equally well whilst making sure that Google can easily index your site.
Security built in
Your website will be designed with security in mind, using various techniques to make it as difficult as possible for anyone to hack your site.
An SSL certificate comes as standard with all of the websites I design. This displays the padlock icon in the browser when people visit your site, telling them that their connection to your site is secure.
SEO – or Search Engine Optimisation to give it its full name – is the practice of increasing the quantity and quality of traffic to your website through organic search engine results (rather than using pay-per-click advertising).
There are many SEO components, several of which relate to the way the website is designed. For instance, search engines such as Google need to be able to crawl and index your website without any issues or errors.
I will ensure that the design of your website is optimised for Google and other search engines.
